FretWhiz ("we", "our", "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data needed to provide the app's functionality:

Account Information: Email address, display name, and password (managed by Supabase Auth). If you use Sign In with Apple, we receive your Apple ID and optionally your name and email.
Profile Data: Instrument, skill level, genres, practice goals, and preferred practice duration. You provide this during onboarding.
Practice Data: Session history, practice duration, blocks completed, self-ratings, and notes. This data is used to track your progress and personalize future routines.
Streak Data: Current streak, longest streak, total sessions, and total practice minutes.

2. How We Use Your Data

To generate personalized practice routines using AI (Anthropic Claude API)
To track your practice history and streaks
To send push notifications (daily reminders, streak alerts) if you opt in
To manage your subscription/purchase status via RevenueCat

3. AI & Data Processing

When generating practice routines, your profile data (instrument, skill level, goals, genres) and recent session history are sent to our server-side AI function. This data is processed by Anthropic's Claude API to select appropriate exercises. No audio or recordings are sent or processed.

4. Third-Party Services

Supabase: Database and authentication. Data stored on Supabase servers with row-level security. Supabase Privacy Policy

RevenueCat: In-app purchase management. Manages purchase status and entitlements. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
Apple: Sign In with Apple authentication, push notifications, and App Store purchases.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a Supabase PostgreSQL database with row-level security policies — you can only access your own data. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using iOS Keychain (via expo-secure-store). All network communication uses HTTPS encryption.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time, which permanently removes all your data from our servers.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your personal data
Correct inaccurate data via the Profile settings
Delete your account and all associated data
Opt out of push notifications at any time via device settings

8. Children's Privacy

FretWhiz is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
